BIS CERTIFICATION OF STAINLESS STEEL WIRE ROD IS 6527:1995

A stainless steel wire rod is a hot rolled wire. Each ingot must undergo sufficient reduction and discard to ensure that it is free of pipe, harmful segregation, and order defects. The surface of the wire rod must be smooth and free of harmful surface defects. End rings should be trimmed sufficiently to remove fins.

• IS 6527 cover Stainless Steel wire Rod. This standard covers the requirements for stainless steel wire rods. This standard does not apply to wire rod used for the manufacturer of welding electrodes.

Mandate for ISI Mark Certification of Stainless Steel wire Rod (IS 6527) :

• Under section 14 of Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986, the Ministry of Steel, consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards has issued the Steel and Steel Product List (Quality control order) according to the QCO, Product can’t be sold in the Indian Market without having BIS (ISI Mark) Certificate.

• As per this order, allthe manufacturers of Stainless Steel wire Rod are obligated to obtain ISI Mark Certification.
