Introduction to Indian Standard IS 12029 covers Acid Oil. This standard specifies the manufacturing, chemical and physical requirements and testing of Acid Oil. Under section 14 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, has issued the Chemical Product List (Quality control order) according to the QCO. The product can’t be sold in the Indian Market without having a BIS (ISI Mark) Certificate. As per the Quality control order, all the manufacturers of Acid Oil are obligated to obtain ISI Mark Certification.

- For the same purpose, investments in testing facilities are required to install test equipment for internal factory test laboratories.
