Category: BIS Registration (CRS)
In today’s world of high-performance audio technology, Electronic Musical systems have become essential for entertainment, professional sound production, and creative expression. As these devices often operate at significant power levels, ensuring their safety, quality, and compliance is critical, not only to protect users but also to maintain consumer confidence in the market. BIS CRS registration for Electronic Musical systems is a mandatory certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which ensures products meet Indian standards, as per IS 616.
The CRS Scheme is required before a manufacturer can sell Electronic musical systems with an Input Power of 200W and above in the Indian market and requires rigorous testing in BIS-accredited labs. Let’s delve deeper to know more about the certification, its process, cost, and more.
The Indian standard 616 establishes the safety and performance standards for electronic musical systems related to electrical safety and user protection. To obtain the BIS Certification for Electronic Musical Systems in Scheme II, you will have to meet the requirements of the relevant Indian Standard, IS 616, for safety and performance. This means that you will have to get the items tested at a BIS-accredited laboratory. After the procurements are tested, you will also have to submit a full application with the test report, and any relevant documentation, including factory and company documentation, trademarks, and authorization letters.
The following specifications are relevant for IS 616 compliance for Electronic Musical Systems ≥200W
