Documents Required for EPR Registration for Plastic Waste

EPR or Extended Producer Responsibility is a milestone policy that checks plastic waste in India. Technologies are emerging in today's global economy, and we are using them with full zeal without thinking of the consequences they cause. Plastic Waste Management is one of the major challenges that we face in our day-to-day life due to these technologies, and it is our responsibility to take care of the natural environment for sustainability.

This blog will discuss the documents required for EPR registration for plastic waste.

What is EPR Registration?

Plastic waste affects the natural environment as it leads to many problems like land and soil degradation, landfills, pollution, and its management is necessary. So, the government of India has introduced a mandatory portal called Extended Producer Responsibility registration under the plastic waste management rule in 2016 and amended it in 2022 under the Central Pollution Control Board.

EPR Registration in India makes producers, importers, and brand owners (PIBOs) responsible for the production, recycling, and final disposal of plastic. EPR registration is an obligatory requirement for PIBOs to get their plastic products registered under it, and this registration not only holds them responsible for the complete life cycle of plastic but also protects the environment and promotes sustainability.
