BIS Audit of Pre-Laminated Particle Boards from Wood and Other Lignocellulosic Material

We are pleased to inform you that the ERCS team has successfully completed another BIS Audit for our customer in Turkey for their product "Pre-Laminated Particle Boards from Wood and Other Lignocellulosic Material" in accordance with IS 12823: 2015 under the FMCS Scheme. As a result, the Bureau of Indian Standards has given a BIS License for Pre-Laminated Particle Boards from Wood and Other Lignocellulosic Materials in accordance with IS 12823.

What is the Bureau of Indian Standards (ISI Mark)?

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is India's national standards body, functioning under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Government of India. BIS specialises in product standardisation, certification, and testing.

Foreign Manufacturer Certification Scheme

The BIS Act of 2016 and the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations of 2018 establish the Foreign Manufacturer Certification Scheme, which grants a BIS license to a foreign manufacturer. The license is awarded for goods that meet relevant Indian Standards.

Audited Process for Product Certification:

IS 12823 covers pre-laminated particle boards made from wood and other lignocellulosic materials. This standard specifies the requirements, sampling method, and test for Pre-Laminated Particle Boards from Wood and Other Lignocellulosic Materials intended for general use, such as providing a less expensive alternative to solid wood, making them suitable for a wide range of projects, such as furniture, cabinets, and interior design. They are less susceptible to cracking, warping, and splitting than solid wood, resulting in higher dimensional stability.
