Linear Alkyl Benzene QCO Suspension Extended Till 31 December 2026

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, has published S.O. 5343(E) dated 29 September 2026, which further amends the Linear Alkyl Benzene (Quality Control) Order, 2022. The amendment has been introduced in view of global exigencies and supply chain disruptions, and to ensure the availability of Linear Alkyl Benzene.

The Central Government has amended the Linear Alkyl Benzene covered under Indian Standard IS 12795:2020 (Quality Control) Order, 2022, by way of notification No. S.O. 5343(E), dated 29 September 2026. The said amendment replaces the proviso to paragraph 2 of the 2022 Order. Accordingly, to ensure that the supply chain of the specified goods and articles is not disrupted, compliance with the relevant Indian Standard will not be required between 1 April 2026 and 31 December 2026.
