The Bureau of Indian Standards has published a new order regarding the Scheme-X of Schedule-II for BIS Conformity Assessment Regulations, 2018. The order has updated the earlier notification dated 24th May 2023, along with its amendment dated 6th June 2024.

 

The order highlights the changes related to the fees (charges) for certification. The changes will be effective from the date of notification, 17th March 2026. Through these changes, BIS promotes ease of doing business for MICRO, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Startups, and Women's Enterprises. It makes BIS Certification more affordable and accessible for emerging businesses in the Indian market.

BIS Scheme X Fee Concessions 2026 for MSMEs, Startups, and Women Entrepreneurs

Below, you can go through the Concession made by the Bureau of Indian Standards for different categories:

1. Concession for Micro Businesses: Micro businesses will receive a fee of only 20% of what large businesses pay, or an 80% discount from the rate of fees normally charged by large businesses.

2. Concession for Small Businesses: Small businesses will receive a fee of only 50% of the fees large businesses pay, or a 50% discount from the rate of fees charged by large businesses.

3. Concession for New Businesses: New businesses will receive a fee of only 20% of the fees paid by large businesses, or an 80% discount from the rate of fees charged by large businesses.

4. Additional Benefits to Women-Owned Businesses: Women-owned businesses will receive an additional 10% discount on fees (in addition to to the benefitting from their current Category discounts, micro, small, or large).

Example: A micro business receiving an 80% discount, owned by a woman, is therefore entitled to receive an additional 10% discount.
