Extension of the Date of Implementation of Revised Standards For LED Luminaires

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has published a new circular on 31st July, 2026, postponing the implementation schedule for the revised IS 10322 Series standards for LED luminaires. Earlier, BIS had informed about the adoption of the revised standards in its circular published on 20th March, 2026.

The manufacturers have been given liberty to continue using both the previous and revised standards during the transition period (also called the Concurrent Running Period). A corrigendum was published on 06th July, 2026, to extend the implementation schedule for the revised standards of LED luminaires (IS 10322 series) under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS). The compliance deadline has been extended from August 2, 2026, to February 2, 2027.

The BIS has already extended the concurrent run period till 02 February 2027. Therefore, manufacturers can continue producing and certifying the products based on either the current Indian Standard or the new Indian Standard (2026 version) until 02 February 2027.
