BIS Certification for Double-Acting Spring Hinges under IS 453

GET BIS CERTIFICATION FOR DOUBLE-ACTING SPRING HINGES IS 453:1993

 

Double action spring hinges allow a door to open 180 degrees in either direction. The spring action returns door to center closed position. These hinges are great for any door you want to walk through in both directions and have the door come back to center automatically.

 

BIS is a statutory institution established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act,1986  to promote harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and attending to connected matters in the country.

 

Double-acting spring hinges product has been specified in IS 453:1993 by Bureau of Indian Standards.

SCOPE :

·       This standard lays down the requirements for material, dimensions manufacture, finish and tests of double-acting spring hinges and corresponding blank hinges used generally for swingdoors.

RAW MATERIALS :

 

·       Mild Steel Sheets and Plates- Grade 0 of IS 1079 and shall meet to
Cl. 4.1 of IS 453: 1993

·       Mild Steel Wire- Minimum 40Kgf/Cm2 Tensile Strength
conforming to 1/4H grade of IS 280 and shall comply to Cl. 4.2 of
IS 453: 1993

·       Cast Brass- as per IS 292

·       Brass sheets- Alloy designation CuZn40 as per IS 410

·       Brass Rods- Minimum Cu content 60 % and Tensile Strength
40Kgf/Cm2, conforming to IS 319

·       Steel Wire of spring- IS 4454-1

·       Phosphorus Bronze wire- Grade 1 of IS 7608
