A conduit is a tube used for protection and routing electrical wiring mostly in building structure. Conduits are installed at site by the electrician. Electrical conduit can be made up of several different types of materials such as metal, plastic, fiber or fired clay.
Pliable, self recovering pipes are the pipes which have a maximum deformation of 50% (based on the outside diameter). This permissible deformation reduces the inside diameter by 72%, which means that the inside diameter of a size 25 pipe shrinks from 17.9 mm to 5.0 mm.

This standard (Part 4) specifies requirements and methods of tests for pliable self-recovering plain and corrugated conduits of insulating materials.
